Whenever someone calls us and says they have low water pressure, it is something usually very common that causes it.

In fact, we can often times figure out what is causing it over the phone with the client.

So what are some common causes of low water pressure?

There are several, but below are just some of the most common things.

First, galvanized pipes. We have blogged about this subject before too. Galvanized pipes corrode from the inside and create blockages in =side the pipes. This will happen even if you only have a small section of it.

Second, improper pipe reduction at the service line. Have a large home with a 3/4 water service line? That’s great, but if someone has a reducer to a 1/2 pipe on there, you may develop water pressure issues in larger homes.

Third, faucet screens. This is a simple one. Most faucets have a little screen on the head of them. Often times people will complain of water pressure at just one sink. After I clean the screen though it often comes back.
